I have a DirecTV HR10-250 that is not working anymore. I know it's not the hard drive because I get a picture, (although a nasty green pixilated one) all of my recorded progams are still available and all of my settings are intact.
DirecTV will not service these units anymore and are shipping me one of their HD DVR's as a replacement at no cost. That's fine except I have all this recorded material on the unit they won't fix.
I have a second HR10-250 which is working just fine. I would like to move all of the recorded material from the bad HR10-250 to my good HR10-250. As I found out, I can't just switch out the hard drives.
So, the question is, what is the easiest way to port or add that recorded material to the good HR10-250? Is there a way to maybe add the drive from the bad unit to the good unit as a B drive?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
