How do you add another signal source on a Series 2DT
I now have it set up for a satelite box with the A/V cables,
I want to add a signal source(signal from another satelite box in a different room) to the tivo cable RF input.I did try hooking it up,but the Tivo doesn't seem to reconize it.
How would the Tivo see this signal.I know there is no way the Tivo can change channels on it.
I would like to be able to record from that source.I have not tried repeating the guide setup yet.
Thanks

I know that a Series 2 single tuner can control a satellite receiver and also accept a feed from basic analog cable on the RF in.
I'm not positive if the Series 2 dual tuner can do this too, but its worth a shot.
If you rerun guided setup, tell it you have basic cable, and delete all but the channel your other sat receiver is sending on (3 or 4), your should be able to setup manual recordings. The program information will be wrong, and you will have to manually tune the 2nd sat receiver but it should work.

I dont know how much you want to spend but you can buy a device called a signal injector. It will take the rf output and make it an analog channel in your cable feed. Then the Tivo can select that channel

You would need to connect the second box RF to the TiVo input, repeat guided setup with cable and satellite with box.
For cable, you check only the RF in channel. You will have to manually change channels on the satellite box and manually set recordings on the TiVo for that input.

I think I know what your saying.Thanks
Basically I'm hooking up two satellite receivers to the same Tivo, one being hooked through the A/V cables and the other using the RF in.Will the guided setup pick up channels from both?
I know the Tivo remote can't control the out of room satellite receiver.Manually setting wouldn't be a problem.
Right now I have that RF cable hook directly to my T.V.
All I have to do is hit the T.V. input button on my Tivo remote to watch that feed.It comes in on channel 4 on the T.V.Press it again to get the video feed coming from the Tivo.Makes it possible to record one program from the Tivo while watching another program on channel four.
But,making use of the Dual Tuner would be nice.
Thanks for the help

It will not get guide data for the second sat receiver. You have to lie to the Tivoduring guided setup, and tell it you have basic cable on the RF feed, in addition to the satellite feed on the composite input. It will list the program that your local cable provider is showing on channel 3. If your sat receiver allows you to schedule tuning, you could schedule a manual recording on the Tivo by time and channel for the RF. Otherwise, you will have to pre tune the sat receiver to the channel you want to record.
