HR10-250 lock up. Any way to fix?

I turn on the TV and am "grey screened". The HR10-250 is on, but nothing works. I hard reboot, and it stays on for several hours, before going back to the vegetative state of the "grey screeen".

Any ideas on fixing? These just appear to be lock-ups, so I don't necessarily believe it is a drive issue, and it isn't a cabling nor a power supply issue, I think.

It stumps me. Thanks for help.

Actually, most likely it's a hard drive problem. Not a common symptom, but it does happen.

Surprisingly enough, after fiddling with the darn thing for a portion of the night, I was awaken at about 4AM to a message on screen.

The unit is overheating, so to stop damage, it shut itself off.

I think the fan is working fine, so I have to move the unit to see if I can figure out what happened.

Pop the cover and clean out the dust.

And while you have the cover off, make sure the fan is spinning

I think the fan is spinning. But everyone is right, it will be a good idea to check out the insides and make sure it is clean and the moving parts are working...

Temperature over past twelve hours hovering between 59 and 61C

Much too hot. Should be closer to 40-45.
