Tivo Bolt????

Is TiVo trying to go out with a bang? I looked at the bolt specs yes it's a super nice unit BUT why in the heck did TiVo go with just one input F connector no two? Sure it's marked Ant/Cable what about we the users that would like to use both OTA and Cable? I wonder if there going to sale a usb controlled RF switch box? No that would not work if you setup one tuner to record OTA and one for cable. But yet all support for anything older then a S4 is null and void. I see a lot of unhappy TiVo users around the bend. Plus I did not see one option for a lifetime on the bolt.

Guess the cable comps are going to be renting a lot of cable DVR'S

I guess I will keep my S3's as long as I can.....

They eliminated the ability for a single device to record both OTA and cable with the Roamio line; the last device that could do it was a 2-tuner Premiere.

And I think that was wrong you had a choice of OTA are cable. But with this it one are the other. Just thinking out loud, I wonder if TiVo will ever put back the support for the older models? I guess I understand everything has to come to a end but come on how many TiVo S2/S3 you think or still out there still working just fine? I have 5 and I know that with the cable comps going over to MPEG4 it will not work on cable but still with over 25 OTA I always have something to record.. Yin & Yang I guess???????

TiVO just ended ALL support for Series 3s too. No more online scheduling & you can no longer sign up a Series 3 for new service on your account unless it has lifetime. All good things come to an end.

No, the Roamio basic is OTA or cable. It can't do both and there's only one coax input.

It can do both, but not at the same time.
You set it up for one or the other, and if you change your mind you have to go through setup again.

Correct and, if the HDMI fails, there is no other direct video output.
Of course if recordings are OTA they can be removed to a pc or another tivo and/or streamed.
